Google has just updated the Maps and and Camera apps for Android. Regular updates for native Google apps can be expected especially after the Google I/O Developer Conference. The app updates bring a lot of new features, improvements, and several bug fixes to both Google Maps and Google Camera.
Google Maps
With the updated Google Maps, you can now receive a special warning when you are going to a place or destination that is already closed at time of arrival. You can't always know the exact time when you're gonna get to a place but at least you'd know if a restaurant, shop, or an office is still operating or not. This is useful for those who need to do errands and some important work.
When you search for 'my events' on your phone, information like flights, hotels and car rental reservations will also come up on the search results. Related information are gathered from your Gmail inbox.
Google Camera
The Google Camera app now features a more responsive design. It's easy-to-use and makes digital photography fun while making your photos look more professional with Wide Angle, Lens Blur, HDR+, Photo Sphere, and Panorama. The app allows you to make photographic effects are are stunning yet one-of-a-kind and professional looking.
The updated Camera app brings important changes to the Nexus phones. The Nexus 6 Android 5.1 Lollipop gets faster capture and shot-to-shot speeds in non-HDR+ mode. For the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 6, expect the HDR+ to be faster. As for the Nexus 4 running Android 5.0+ Lollipop, you'd notice fewer viewfinder errors, fewer reboots, and improved quality.
The software update also brings larger sizes and enhance quality which you can change on the Settings. You'll notice new focus and capture indicators too. The app still has the same easy interface and features like Lens Blur, Photo Stitching, Video recording, and Android Wear-compatibility. You can use a smartwatch to take photos from afar simply by tapping on the small screen.
