Apple Stores no longer offer iPhones with 2 year AT&T contract

at&t_next-Iphone

Apple Stores are no longer offering iPhones with 2 year contracts on AT&T’s network. Instead, customers will be asked to opt for AT&T Next plan.

AT&T Next is a program for financing devices without the need for a contract. Rather than signing a contract that ties you to AT&T itself, the Next plan will allow you to pay for your iPhone in installments. You will end up paying more than the actual price of the device but you still get easy financing and the ability to switch operators whenever needed.

Customers can choose 12, 18 or 24 month payment periods on AT&T Next. The iPhone 6 starts at US$ 21.64 per month for the 16GB model, US$ 24.97 for the 64GB model and US$ 28.30 for the 128GB model. The iPhone 6 Plus wil cost US$ 24.97, 28.30 and 31.64 for the 16GB, 64GB and 128GB models respectively. The prices will increase if you go for a longer payment option.

This change is applicable to both online as well as offline Apple Stores but they’ve started changing it starting with the offline stores first. Sprint and Verizon customers still have the option to go for a 2 year contract.
