Following up on some of the recent rumors and sightings, Samsung has officially announced the latest in the Galaxy Tab lineup. The new entry is the Galaxy Tab3 Lite. This will be a 7-inch tablet that is powered by a dual-core processor and running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Samsung hasn't offered anything in terms of pricing, but based on the specs it seems this one will be serving the entry-level market.
Touching back on the display and processor, those considering a purchase can expect to find a resolution of 1024 x 600 and a speed of 1.2GHz. Other specs here include 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 1GB of RAM and a 3600 mAh battery. While real world use tends to very from person to person, Samsung has said that means the potential of up to 8 hours of video playback time.
The Galaxy Tab3 Lite will also have a 2 megapixel camera, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 and GPS + GLONASS. While the camera setup will be limited to 2MP, there will be plenty of Samsung specifics in terms of camera shooting options. These include everything from Smile Shot, to Shoot & Share to Panorama Shot.
Otherwise, the tablet will weigh in at 310 grams with measurements of 116.4 x 193.4 x 9.7mm. Similar to the lack of specifics in terms of the pricing, Samsung has yet to announce a firm release date. For now they have said the Galaxy Tab3 Lite will be available globally. And, also in black and white.
